5 Rules for a happy artist's life - part 2
1 Don't fret about sales. Selling your art is important - especially if you want to earn a living from your art, but the more concerned you are about making the next sale the more elusive they will become.
2 Don't let fear of judgment hold you back. You will never be liked by everyone - accept that some will not understand your art and that is ok. You are painting to please yourself and no one else.
3 Don’t compare yourself to others. Especially jf you are just starting out it is counterproductive to compare yourself to an artist with thirty year’s experience.
4 The only opinion that truly matters is your own. Feedback, whether positive or not, can be helpful, but always trust your own instincts before someone else’s opinion.
5 Believe in yourself. Some days your self-believe will be sky-high, other days it will hit rock bottom. That is part of the process, but every artist needs to work constantly on their self-believe. It is what will keep you going through the tough times and keep you happy during the good times.
